WHY THE SEG HEAD START PROGRAM IS UNIQUE

Coaches –

Never before have the talents of so many coaches across Sydney been pooled together in a co-ordinated effort. These coaches will ensure the Head Start program is of the highest quality and participants will be well prepared for the season.

The mentor system –

The mentor system acts to ensure each player is gaining the absolute most they can from the time spent with SEG. At the beginning of the program each player is assigned to a coaching mentor to guide them through the program. During the one on one planning and review sessions these mentors will help the players establish goals that are suitable and review all of the work completed.

Curriculum –

The curriculum is unique in that it combines both physical and mental sessions ensuring the maximum benefit to the participants. The curriculum is based on the DRIVE system:

D:            Discipline

R:            Respect

I:             Integrity

V:            Vision

E:            Enthusiasm

The Players Manual –

The players manual is the ultimate resource for all developing cricketers. It provides information on player development, feedback regarding past performances, goals to be achieved and strategies that are set to help players achieve these goals.

Homework Tasks –

The training of the player does not end once the session ends. Players are issued a number of homework tasks required for completion each week. These tasks ensure the player continues thinking about their game and is making the correct plans to ensure success in the coming season

Facilities –

The Head Start programs are completed at some of the best facilities in all of Sydney providing players with the opportunity to train under exceptional conditions with high level training partners.

Coaching -

All coaches must pass stringent qualification by master coach, Neil D’Costa, technical adviser to many of NSW up and coming stars ranging from thirteen year olds to current Australian player Michael Clarke.
